Cookie Policy

This policy explains the cookies used on the PCGuard website and web dashboard, run by PCGuard (“we”, “us”). The short version: we use only cookies that are strictly necessary to sign you in and remember your language.

1What cookies are#

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Sites use them to remember things between pages and visits, such as whether you are signed in.

2Our approach#

We use only strictly necessary cookies. We do not use analytics, advertising, social media or tracking cookies, and no third-party scripts on our pages set them.

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), strictly necessary cookies do not need consent, so we do not show a cookie banner. If we ever want to add cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.

All our cookies are first-party and sent only over secure connections (HTTPS) in production.

4Stripe checkout and billing portal#

When you pay, or choose Manage subscription, you go to Stripe's own pages on checkout.stripe.com and billing.stripe.com. Stripe sets its own cookies there, for example to prevent fraud and keep the payment secure. Those cookies are controlled by Stripe; see Stripe's Cookie Policy (opens in a new tab).

5PCGuard apps#

PCGuard Parent for Windows and Android and PCGuard Child do not use browser cookies. They keep sign-in details and settings in storage on your device, as our Privacy Policy explains.

6Managing cookies#

You can view and delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block our cookies, the website still works but cannot remember the language you chose (it follows your browser's language instead), and you cannot sign in to the web dashboard without the session cookie.

7Changes to this policy#

We will update this policy if the cookies we use change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
